FMBC SUMMER TRAINING FOR ADJUDICATORS AND SHOW HOSTS
FMBC held the 2007 TRAINING SEMINAR for SHOW HOSTS and ADJUDICATORS on SUNDAY, JULY 15th in Apopka Florida, near Orlando. There were twenty-seven attendees, including FMBC Regional Representatives, show hosts, new and experienced adjudicators, and directors from several active competitive band programs.
The seminar focused on a detailed discussion of the Visual Performance and Percussion performance sheets, and several potential changes on these sheets for 2007 were discussed in detail.
FMBC also introduced the 2007 version of the FMBC Recap Software. The most signifigant change involves the way the recap page is designed. Starting with th 2007 season, FMBC recaps will display the subcaption scores as well as the caption scores. Show hosts are strongly encouraged to use LEGAL SIZE paper for printing recaps in order to display all of the subcaption information clearly.
FMBC LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR DRUM MAJORS AND BAND OFFICERS
FMBC hosted its first-ever Leadership Training Summit for Drum Majors and Band Officers in June. Thank you to the many participants. It was a fantastic four days filled with knowledge sharing and fun. Speakers included Wayne Markworth, John LaCognata, Mike Johnson and Jenn Treulieb.
FMBC and their guest speakers provided teaching techniques, professional resources and inspiration to many of Florida's finest student leaders of this coming season. The training ended with visual conducting and theatre performances created by the students in groups to a crowd of over 600 enthusiastic supporters.
