2009 FMBC Rules and Regulations There are very few changes in the rules this year, and most of the changes are simply clarifications of existing rules. Use the link above to view the 2009 rules. SUMMARY OF CHANGES - We have clarified restrictions on leaving debris on the field after performance. Some of our sites, including the Citrus Bowl, have requested that we insure that there is no debris on the field after bands exit. We have been advised that even colored water and glitter (historically used by some drum majors during their salute) can damage the artificial turf at some stadiums. Also we have tried to clarify our rules concerning adults on the field during the show. Our primary concern is always for the safety of performers. However, we request that all props be designed with normal Florida outdoor weather in mind. We do not permit adults to be on the field holding or moving props during a show, unless there are extreme weather conditions involved. In this case, the advance approval of the Chief Judge and/or Contest Sponsor is required to avoid penalties. We request that you keep this in mind when designing and building your props, should you elect to use props to enhance your presentation. Copies of the judging sheets can be downloaded from the links below.
